Greetings you use with friends and relatives

Some people like to use hey, hello, hi, howdy to sound more cool. Some use greetings in their native language to show love for their culture, like in urdu “shab-bakhair”…etc. Others love to use Assalam-o-Alaikum to improve “barakah” (blessings) in their relationship, while few avoid it to look more modern in front of their western friends.

How do you usually greet / like to be greeted by people around you ?

p.s. I just found out “Hey *Hottie” and *“Hey Babe” are also used on planet earth.

Re: Greetings you use with friends and relatives

Whenever I pass through any of my friend. I simply say "Assalam-o-Alaikum" and "How are you?" these are the typical greetings I always use.

Re: Greetings you use with friends and relatives

Assalam O Alaikum to Muslim folks and good morning , good evening , good night , hi , bye to non Muslims.

Re: Greetings you use with friends and relatives

i also use weird kind of greetings like ki haal chal ... oye ki kar rayi aye... hey sexy waghaira waghaira but that is always after Assalam O Alaikum

i only say asalmaulaikum to my dad and other relatives or older guests..others i say hey/hi... see ya/bye or khudahafiz to older guests/relatives..

i never give muslim greetings to people my age ..i dont know y?..even if they r muslim..it just feels unnatural to me..

Re: Greetings you use with friends and relatives

"A-Salm-Wa-Alikum" - For all Muslim friends and family ...

"Hey How Are you Doing" - for informal non-Muslim colleagues...

"Hello I am ...." - for all formal/job related meetings ....

Re: Greetings you use with friends and relatives
