I be in London, if I travelled to the west I would set my watch an hour back at at the required geographical points and the further i travel the more hours behind GMT I am.
If I travel eastwards I do the opposite and forward the time.
where is the point where the backwards and forwards bit join and theoritically can I stand at a point on this planet where one leg is a day ahead or the other?

Re: greenwich mean time
I've stood at the equator 0 degrees latitude 0 degrees longitude... but that has nothing to do with your question.

Yeap... the Royal Observatory in Greenwich is where you can stand with a foot in both Western and Eastern hemispheres at the Greenwich Meridian Line (0° longitude).
Re: greenwich mean time
I think Faisal got it right
I was asked this question by an eight year old but didnt remember the answer...it thought it was in the middle of the ocean somewhere
Umer Talib, the Greenich observatory was the thing that set off all these questions, sometimes it frightens me when children think and ask questions especially when i fob them off and they remember to ask me again the next day.
There should be a law against it.
Thank you for your post
Re: greenwich mean time

Re: greenwich mean time
