Coming to the topic, it is a very complex situation.
Ahmadis should be respected no doubt about it, weather one agrees with them or not.
Also general public need to control their emotions and attacks on them or on any sect is a terrible, dispicble phenomenon. It is very possible that those who have bad intention to make a news out of their acts, even outsiders, may be involved in sectarian riots.
However, there is a law which Ahmadis cannot do anything about. Majority people have their mind set on considering them non-muslims.
Each country has laws which one or more groups of people living in that country do not agree with. Nothing surprising.
Many places are against hippies and the treatment of these hippies is not good in those countries for example. Hippies don't even get decent jobs in many places. I am not saying Ahmadis are like hippies by any stretch though. Just an example.
Multiple marriage is allowed in islam or even in some sects of christianity but there are places/countries where law exists against multiple marriages. Hope one sees the point.
