What time do the shops in these areas tend to close? I know they open later in the mornings..

Ilford lane shops are open till 8-9

They all tend to close around 7 or 7.30. I don't know any that stay open later than that, and I live in Ilford!

Theres maybe a few that might stay open.as late as 8, esp in Green Street. Dunno about Southall but I'm going there this later on so I'll find out for you!

^What time do they shut in the US or Canada?

Some of our shopping malls are open till 10pm.. Smaller standalone stores on the high street tend to close 5:30/6pm.. Desi stores are somewhere in the middle..

Btw thanks for all the info, will go Ilford Lane + Green St at some point this week :)

Wrong. I work near Green St - most shops close by 6pm. And they open around 10am. Quite surprising considering it's a desi area....

^Oh cool. I just assumed it was the same as Ilford cos Ilford closes around 7.30
