Re: Green Chilli Plant....not growing in home... a myth
I also recently heard about this superstition from a friend and she said if you grow a green chilli plant in your home then something very bad will happen in your family and either you or some family member will have to leave the home.
I dont believe it though. Sounds like BS!
I have to throw it. It has been 3 months back I grew those two plants, from that I had bad dreams, I am not feeling ok with the plant, although I don't believe in this myth but I will garbage it.

my mum has been growing for so many years and nothing has happend. but i have heard people saying if you give chilli plant to anyone, there will be fights between you both.
but never happened as mum always gives her plants to other aunties who cant grow

i'm pretty sure it's just a myth or superstition because it doesnt make sense at all. what about farmers who grow tons of chillies in their farms where they live too? right!
The myth is about not to grow that plant in home, but farmers grew it in farm not in the home.

Re: Green Chilli Plant…not growing in home… a myth
One of the basic principals of Islam is not to believe in superstition.
Re: Green Chilli Plant…not growing in home… a myth
I don’t believe in superstitions and first time I heard of this through my in-laws. They really believe in it
Where I live, I can’t find hari mirchain easily here - closest thing is jalapenos lol. As a matter of respect though, I decided not to grow them at home.. I know if anything bad happens, my plant will get all the blame ![]()
