I cant say dont do it because Ive seen the most unexpected couples happen.
I have a family friends who was anything but the typical desi guy. He was born and raised in the US. He partied, had a horrible reputation, dropped out of school (went back later and finished), dated, DJ'd for a living but guess what? He married a girl from India...went to India and got married there. He just had a beautiful baby girl (Mashallah) two weeks ago and is the happiest he has ever been! You can tell from a mile away he wouldnt change a thing about his life and its wonderful to see him that way.
There are success stories...you just have to be REALLY careful.
