green card holder, study abroad?

does anyone have any information on green card holders in the united states going overseas to the caribbean for med school? is there a special permit that can be obtained to stay out of the united states for that long? (4 year med program)

i think you should check with the school and you find out about the exact procedure. I think you might have to get student visa from that country.
