Re: Greatest Spinner Ever in Cricket

Sahi kaha aapnay. Hogg was his last name I think. I do recall he was asthmatic. Don't know abt current Hogg.

Along same lines, Lance Cairns of NZ was an all rounder - medium fast bowling. Abt 5 years ago I came across another NZ all rounder - same last name same med fast bowling. Son of Lance.

Re: Greatest Spinner Ever in Cricket

Abdul Qadir. It was a joy to watch him ball. He took 960 wickets in first class cricket.

Re: Greatest Spinner Ever in Cricket

^^

I dont know about Qadir. I only remember Sachin massacring him in his first tour of Pakistan.

Re: Greatest Spinner Ever in Cricket

Agreed. Kumble wasnt really big on spin. It was his line, length and bounce that got the batsmen.

Re: Greatest Spinner Ever in Cricket

Its between Warne and Murali, but I would give it to Warne since Murali got most of his wickets on the spinner friendly sub continent wickets.

Re: Greatest Spinner Ever in Cricket

Some otherwild card
1) during 70s Zimbabwe Bangladesh and other minnows were not part of int cricket
2) umpires abroad were far more biased
3) # of matches played not as much as today.
