It was electricity because that allowed me to use the computer which allowed me to connect to the internet which allowed me to browse gupshup which allowed me to find friends like mama ki dua and shaz which lead me to add them on MSN and them becoming my good friends;)

I would say:
modern plumbing - otherwise we'd still be walking around the streets which would be full of sewage.
internet - can simultaneously connect so mnay people around the world, you can increase your 'social network base', gain knowledge like never before......list is endless for the benefits of the internet...

INTERNET.........LOVE IT, so dependent upon it. I mean you always have the option of doing research using books in a library as well interviewing primary sources. BUT....to have a wealth of information at the click of a button......to have the world at your fingertips.......AMAZING! (Thank God for** Youtube**, lol).
CAR........My car is like a person to me. Yes, that's right. To me, it's like she's human. I've even named her....she's called Lily. I'm so dependent on her. She takes me everywhere. And when you feel the need to escape and go for a drive.......you're so thankful for your
car!

Cell phone/musical devices:** The ability to communicate and listen to music and connect to the internet have all been incorporated into compact portable devices that can fit in the palm of your hand. We have come a LONG way!
Airplane.....the food smells and tastes weird. And sleeping in a seat for long hours can give you a stiff neck and back. BUT....it's faster than ship, car, horse, or cattle.
TV.....It's when you don't have access to a computer or tv (tech problems) that you realize how depended you can be on these two items.
Great thread. These are my fave inventions. And many of them wouldn't be here without the fundamental discoveries.......the wheel......and electricity.
STEAM engine, it was the foundation stone for industrial revolution.
