As most of you know that there is this thing going around that who should be awarded the Greatest Indian player of all time.
These are the real picks from the judges and I personnally didn’t choose any of them.
Here are the nominees
Lala Amarnath
Mohammad Azharuddin
Bishan Singh Bedi
Bhagwat Chandrasekha
DB Deodhar
Kapil Dev
Sunil Gavaskar
Vijay Hazare
Anil Kumble
Vinoo Mankad
Vijay Merchant
CK Nayudu
MAK Pataudi
Sachin Tendulkar
Dilip Vengsarkar
Gundappa Viswanath
These are the nominated players.
When you decide the player, don’t just look at just one area, for example Gavaskar was best Indian batsman ever or Kapil Dev was the best bowler ever.
You need to look at all the factors from leadership roles, great fielding abilities and great contributions to the India cricket.

I will choose Muhammad Azharuddin.
I think he was the greates Indian player ever from looking at India’s past, they haven’t had many success but Azharuddin has let his side to many good times as well.
One example was the India vs Australia match in WC 99, I think where India had already lost the match but Srinath was bowling to finish of the match and Azharuddin told Srinath to bowl around the wicket and Srinath loudly replied. “Sirf aik run to rahta hai!” in anger.
All in all I pick Azharuddin, from his great leadership role to his great batting performances.
This thread is dedicated to my Indian friends who I have angered on so many occasions.
This is just my way of making it up.

My choice, Sachin Tendulkar… Reason: For the great player and sportsman that he is… I have never seen him quarrel of get aggravated even if he the bowler provokes him. His record proves what a great batsman he is. The best Indian cricketer of all times if you ask me

** Sachin Tendulkar, the only batsman to strike fear into the heart of arrogant Australian bowler Shane Warne.

Very true but I don't know about the only batsman to do it.
Brian Lara left Shane Warne standing in wondering why was he playing cricket in Australia tour of Windies.
