When Punjab ignore smaller province rights in pakistan its not acceptable, yet when it happens in NWFP is totally ok?
This theory of not antagonising the majority - it means smaller provinces should give up their rights too - is that acceptable? Funnily enough its the ANP who have made a career out of Punjab bashing.
Why do you think the non-pashtun minorities are not in favour of a Pakhtun type name? They know it wont end there. Soon there will be calls for Pashtu to be the regional language in NWFP i that would mean chitralis, seraikis and hindko speakers being forced to speak pashtu against their will.
Why are the minorities rejecting it when its just a name? The ANP mostly talk of the rights of pakhtuns. Most of their speeches are about pakhtuns.
The name change would greatly alienate some very proud pakistanis - they know there will be more changes to come eventually.
The democratic process has been subverted so many times, and minority rights ignored so often in Pakistan, I honestly dont think anyone will care if NWFP is renamed against the wishes of the minority Hindkowans. In the great scheme of things, it makes no difference. In the long run however, it will be off great help if we can avoid antagonize the majority, even at the expense of the minority, who I am sure will eventually reconcile themselves to the situation.

Hopefully one day you will realize that Sarhad has many important issues related to its rights and responsibilities. And the name issue is pretty much at the bottom of the heap.
Why it is so? Because the name doesn't guarantee prosperity, nor it helps with progress. You are merely trying to propagate it out of sheer ignorance that Hindus and socialists used it against Pakistan.
