Hypothetically speaking, if you could eliminate world hunger or cure a disease by killing someone you love (read: family, friends, spouse, significant other)… would you do it? AS the saying goes “The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the one.”
I would like to say that I would, but the truth is im not that strong. We all like to think that we would help people who are suffering from fatal illnesses and whatnot, but I really doubt that people would actively do something about, or go so far to help each other out. I mean, we see homeless people everyday, sick people who cant afford the health care, but we dont extend a hand without having to sacrifice a loved one, so what makes us think that we would do that at the price of a loved one’s life. It’s a little cynical, I know.. but thats how I see it.
If I did end up doing it somehow, I’d probably do it as a murder-suicide, because I wouldnt be able to live with that for the rest of my life.
So, what is your take on this guys. Is it worth it… would you sacrifice a near and dear one, if it meant saving the lives of thousands or maybe more strangers?
I would not because if you kill one, it is as if you have killed the entire humanity. I fear the Almighty too much to take a life in the 'hope' that i'll be able to save many. Even hypothetically speaking, that is.
Foundation of a murder to save no matter how many is, in itself corrupt.

Nyah I wont , neither I am prophet Abhraim nor its ALLAH's call .......
Why does one really have to sacrify one's loved one in matter of murder or death necessarily? That sounds like a blind alley, since this is just out of the world concept. It can be like sacrifying the needs of yours, or your loved ones, for the sake of greater good, and that is something rather common a trial, which not many of us do win.
I wouldn't. I know it's a hypothetical question but I really couldn't think of whom, except for me...then it would be a suicide and that is haraam...so it defeats the purpose!
unjust anything is not permitted by morals or by reasons of religion, even when it involves a consequent social good deed, as its means are corrupt.
and taking a life, torturing it, is the ignoble.
there should be ways in which life is constructively take care of, rather than disposed off at a whim.
it is a self justification syndrome of sort. someone saying i sacrificed this or that, for this or that. this is not fair and ought not to done.
at least should be prevented.
