Great Insult to Country

This is how some Pakis have become billionaires, by selling country’s respect and honor. I wonder which country they were exporting these footballs?

Heroin-packed soccer balls seized

SIALKOT, March 25: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) on Tuesday seized a huge quantity of fine quality heroin in a raid on a soccer ball manufacture factory in Uggoki, a few kilometers from here.

According to an ANF official, the force raided the factory owned by Chaudhry Iqbal Ghumman on a tip-off and seized heroin hidden in footballs, which were ready to be exported.

ANF officials later told reporters the seized heroin was worth millions of rupees. They said three people, including the factory owner, had been arrested and a case had been registered against them. The factory was also sealed.

Re: Great Insult to Country

Shameless people who destroyed our exports over the years.

achhee baat ye hay ke apni hi police/ANF ne pakra

Re: Great Insult to Country

man I was so looking forward for that shipment!

Re: Great Insult to Country

instead you going to have fits now.

Re: Great Insult to Country

black sheeps are everywhere, I dont think it would have ever got to a decent destination.
while most of the sport exporters compete vigrously with each other on lurative export contracts with major sport giants, this one was looking for a quick one deal , he must have been shipping these to planned drug gang, not an importer abroad. so the real export is not damaged.

any crime is not insult to any country, it exists everywhere on the planet.

Re: Great Insult to Country

Can you name any country that does that? When I was a kid, we used to read in Social Studies that Sialkot was main exporter of quality sporting goods and surgical items. If some one tarnish that image, not only to say good bye to this lucrative business but also inflicting a GREAT INSULT to the country by selling respect and honor of manufacturing quality goods for export.

Re: Great Insult to Country

Actually, I agree with Shak Kills here. While this is frustrating, one bad apple should not define many hundreds and thousands of works in Sialkot who earn an honest living and produce world-class products and are big exporters. We can not have a petty criminal (or drug dealer) define the image of 160 million great people.

Now, who is this **Chaudhry Iqbal Ghumman **that is mentioned in the news report? Name sounds familiar. May be a politician, or something. That may rile up people more, since these politicians aspire to be the leaders of our nation, and are secretly engaging in smuggling and drug trade.

Re: Great Insult to Country

Yes i think you are right. But the people who send low and cheap quality, they are a hurdle in our export growth.

Re: Great Insult to Country

Countries who are invloved in drug trade, criminals get innovative ideas to do that everyday with various different methods, if footballs are used in this case doesnt mean every industry in sialkot following this pattern. and it doesnt stop Sialkot still exporting sport and surgical items.

even if these drugs get exported they are not meant for nike or adidas, they are not importing drugs. so it doesnt harm the real clients.

the only thing that harm the exports , when you send the substandard items to make more profit, by this you ruin your and others chance of trusting Pakistani exporters.
