I dont think ikea's expensive. Its actually one of the cheaper home furniture places around. We did our girls bedroom up with ikea furniture and it really didnt cost much at all and it looks great. As for the quality, its ok, not the best but it works for us because we dont want to be stuck with the same furniture for years and years.

yeah, mostly ikea is not expensive... its good quality temporary furniture. for instance, don't go in there expecting to have the same bookcase standing 5 years later. its max 2-4 year wear and its good for young couples who are starting out and setting up their first home or for students who want to decorate their dorm rooms on a budget.

they do have a new line out in canada, at least, called ikea Stockholm. that stuff is sturdier and more expensive and its their "high end" line where they actually use wood and not MDF, and also use more luxurious fabrics.
