BISMILLAH.

What happens when a person dies…

It was a cemetery. The Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him) was sitting near a grave. He then raised his head and said to his companions (peace and blessings be upon them all) :

 ►   Seek refuge with Allah from the punishment in the grave. He repeated it twice or thrice.

He then continued:

The dead hears the beat of the sandals of the relatives when they leave him, and at that moment there appear before him two Angels, both having horrifying black faces and blue eyes. One is called Munkar and the other is called Nakir.

They ask him: Who is your Lord?

(If that person is a true Muslim) he replies: My Lord is Allah.

They will ask him: What is your religion?

He will reply: My religion is Islam.

They will ask him: What is your opinion about the man who was sent on a mission among you?

He will reply: He is the Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him).

They will ask: Who made you aware of this?

He will reply: I read Allah’s Book, believed in it, and considered it true; which is verified by Allah’s words: "Allah’s Book, believed in it, and considered it true, which is verified by Allah’s words: “Allah establishes those who believe with the word that stands firm in this world and the next.”

Then a voice from the Heaven will be heard: “My servant has spoken the truth, so spread a bed for him from Paradise, clothe him from Paradise, and open a door for him into Paradise. So some of its air and perfume will come to him, and a space will be made for him as far as the eye can see.”

Then Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him) also mentioned the death of the infidel, saying:

His spirit will be restored to his body, two angels will come to him, make him sit up and ask him: Who is your Lord?

He will reply: Alas, alas! I do not know.

They will ask him: What is your religion?

He will reply: Alas, alas! I do not know.

They will ask: Who was the man who was sent on a mission among you?

He will reply: Alas, alas! I do not know.

Then a voice from Heaven will be heard: He has lied, so spread a bed for him from Hell, clothe him from Hell, and open for him a door into Hell. Then some of its heat and pestilential wind will come to him, and his grave will be compressed, so that his ribs will be crushed together.

One who is blind and dumb will then be placed in charge of this infidel in the grave who would be having a sledge-hammer such that if a mountain were struck with it, it would become dust. He will give him a blow with it…which will be heard by everything between the East and the West except by Humans and Jinn, and he will become dust. Then his spirit will be restored to him.◄

Prepare yourself to meet your Lord! Verily, Death is a reality and the one who does not prepare for the Life after Death will face severe consequences.

“What is the life of this world but play and amusement? But best is the home in the Hereafter for those who are righteous. Will ye not then understand?” (6:32)

What happens when two angels finish questioning the person in his grave....

This marks the beginning of the life in al-barzakh, which lasts from after a person dies until he is resurrected, whether he is buried in a grave or not, whether he is burned or eaten by wild animals. Both the body and the soul together experience punishment or reward.

Why do we think that a person lives a life in al-barzakh....

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said that after the deceased is placed in his grave, he can hear the footsteps of his family (as they walk away from the grave). (Sahih Al-Bukhari)

"...It is but a word he says before them is a Partition till the Day they are raised up." (23:100)

How is the life at al-barzakh….

This life is either pleasant or a disaster, depending upon what kind of actions one did in this world.

In the Holy Quran, Allah says about the Fira’un (Pharaoh) and his people:

“The Fire, they are exposed to it, morning and afternoon. And on the Day when the Hour will be established (it will be said to the angels): ‘Cause Fir‘awn’s (Pharaoh) people to enter the severest torment!’”

[Ghaafir 40:46 – interpretation of the meaning]

Ibn Mas’ood (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The souls of the people of Pharaoh and those of their ilk among the kaafirs are shown the Fire morning and evening, and they are told, this is your abode.

In his Tafseer, Ibn Katheer said: This aayah is the main basis of the Sunni/Ahl-e-Sunnah Wal Jamma’at’s belief in the torment of al-barzakh in the grave.

About the concept of al-barzakh in other religions….

'Aisha said that a Jewess came to her and mentioned the punishment in the grave, saying to her, "May Allah protect you from the punishment of the grave." 'Aisha then asked Allah's Apostle about the punishment of the grave. He said, "Yes, (there is) punishment in the grave." 'Aisha added, "After that I never saw Allah's Apostle but seeking refuge with Allah from the punishment in the grave in every prayer he prayed." (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, al-Janaa’iz, 1283; Muslim, al-Kusoof, 903).

This hadeeth indicates that the torment of the grave is real and that it is ongoing in the case of many people.

About the severity in the grave….

‘Asma bint Abi Bakr narrated: Allah's Apostle once stood up delivering a sermon and mentioned the trial which people will face in the grave. When he mentioned that, the Muslims started shouting loudly (out of fear). (Sahih Al-Bukhari)

Zaid ibn Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) reported, "The Prophet, peace be upon him, was going with us toward the dwellings of Banu an-Najjar. He was riding a pony, which spooked and he nearly fell off. He found four, five, or six graves there, and asked, 'Which of you knows about those lying in these graves?' Someone said, ' I do . ' Thereupon the Prophet, peace be upon him, asked, ' In what state did they die? ' He replied, 'They died as polytheists. ' He said, "These people are passing through an ordeal in the graves. You would stop burying your dead in the graves if you heard the torment in the grave that I hear. If it were not for this fact, I should have certainly made you listen to it.' Then turning his face toward us, he admonished, 'Seek refuge with Allah from the torment of Hell.' They replied, 'We seek refuge with Allah from the torment of Hell.' He said, 'Seek refuge with Allah from the torment of the grave.' They said, 'We seek refuge with Allah from the torment of the grave. ' He warned, 'Seek refuge with Allah from temptations both visible and invisible.' They replied, 'We seek refuge with Allah from temptation (fitnah) in every visible and invisible form.' Then he added, 'Seek refuge with Allah from the temptation of the Dajjal.' They said, 'We seek refuge with Allah from the temptation of the Dajjal'.'' (Sahih Al-Muslim)

The meaning of 'Inna ka la tus'meeul Mautaa' (Surah Naml: 80)….

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) looked at the people of the well (the well in which the bodies of the pagans killed in the Battle of Badr were thrown) and said, "Have you found true what your Lord promised you?"

Somebody said to him (peace and blessings be upon him), "You are addressing dead people?" He replied , "You do not hear better than they but they cannot reply."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also said, "They now realize that what I used to tell them was the truth. "And Allah said, "Verily! You cannot make the dead to hear (i.e. benefit them, and similarly the disbelievers) nor can you make the deaf hear (27.80)."

This is freaky. Man, this makes you wanna bawl through all the guilt you have to go through of what you've done and have to suffer in the grave then again on judgement day.

God save us from the punishment of the Grave, the world, the hell fire. Ameen.

Jitna Diya Sarkar Nay Mujko, Itni Meri Auqat Nahi, Yeh Saab Tumhara Karam Hai Aqa, Mujh Mein Aisi Koi Baat Nahin.

'Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu'.

DO YOU KNOW....

The dreams of the Prophets and Apostles of Allah (SWT) were a sort of revelations. Their dreams used to be true! Remember, Ibraheem (Abraham)-[may Allah be pleased with him] saw a dream about sacrificing his son? That was a divine manifestation. Similarly, the dreams of Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him) were also Divinely Inspired and were true!

Read this….

Once Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) finished the (morning) prayer, he would face us and ask, "Who amongst you had a dream last night?"

So if anyone had seen a dream he would narrate it.

The Prophet would say: "Ma sha'a-llah" (An Arabic maxim meaning literally, "What Allah wished," and it indicates a good omen.)

One day, he asked us whether anyone of us had seen a dream. We replied in the negative. The Prophet said, "But I had seen (a dream) last night that two men came to me, caught hold of my hands, and took me to the Sacred Land (Jerusalem)....

....There, I saw a person sitting and another standing with an iron hook in his hand pushing it inside the mouth of the former till it reached the jawbone, and then tore off one side of his cheek, and then did the same with the other side; in the meantime the first side of his cheek became normal again and then he repeated the same operation again. I said, 'What is this?' They told me to proceed on and we went on till we came to a man lying flat on his back, and another man standing at his head carrying a stone or a piece of rock, and crushing the head of the lying man, with that stone. Whenever he struck him, the stone rolled away.

The man went to pick it up and by the time he returned to him, the crushed head had returned to its normal state and the man came back and struck him again (and so on). I said, 'Who is this?' They told me to proceed on; so we proceeded on and passed by a hole like an oven; with a narrow top and wide bottom, and the fire was kindling underneath that hole. Whenever the fire-flame went up, the people were lifted up to such an extent that they about to get out of it, and whenever the fire got quieter, the people went down into it, and there were naked men and women in it. I said, 'Who is this?' They told me to proceed on. So we proceeded on till we reached a river of blood and a man was in it, and another man was standing at its bank with stones in front of him, facing the man standing in the river. Whenever the man in the river wanted to come out, the other one threw a stone in his mouth and caused him to retreat to his original position; and so whenever he wanted to come out the other would throw a stone in his mouth, and he would retreat to his original position. I asked, 'What is this?' They told me to proceed on and we did so till we reached a well-flourished green garden having a huge tree and near its root was sitting an old man with some children. (I saw) another man near the tree with fire in front of him and he was kindling it up. Then they (i.e. my two companions) made me climb up the tree and made me enter a house, better than which I have ever seen. In it were some old men and young men, women and children.

Then they took me out of this house and made me climb up the tree and made me enter another house that was better and superior (to the first) containing old and young people. I said to them (i.e. my two companions), 'You have made me ramble all the night. Tell me all about that I have seen.' They said, 'Yes. As for the one whose cheek you saw being torn away, he was a liar and he used to tell lies, and the people would report those lies on his authority till they spread all over the world. So, he will be punished like that till the Day of Resurrection.

The one whose head you saw being crushed is the one whom Allah had given the knowledge of Qur'an (i.e. knowing it by heart) but he used to sleep at night (i.e. he did not recite it then) and did not use to act upon it (i.e. upon its orders etc.) by day; and so this punishment will go on till the Day of Resurrection. And those you saw in the hole (like oven) were adulterers (those men and women who commit illegal sexual intercourse). And those you saw in the river of blood were those dealing in Riba (usury). And the old man who was sitting at the base of the tree was Abraham and the little children around him were the offspring of the people. And the one who was kindling the fire was Malik, the gatekeeper of the Hell-fire. And the first house in which you have gone was the house of the common believers, and the second house was of the martyrs. I am Gabriel and this is Michael. Raise your head.' I raised my head and saw a thing like a cloud over me. They said, 'That is your place.' I said, 'Let me enter my place.' They said, 'You still have some life which you have not yet completed, and when you complete (that remaining portion of your life) you will then enter your place.' "
