yeah man! it was a popularity stunt by the shah-e-Iraq as well :-)
No seriously Anwar. Think about it. I dont think that I am vioalting any fragement of Imaan or basic Islamic belief system if I am questioning the validity of this incident.
Nooruddin Zangi was not a sahabi or Wali or Imam. He was a ruler. If I question his claim or his story, does that show the weekness of my Imaan?
yeah see, how do you know it was not a tactic by Zangi to rally the masses against the christians (we are talking about the time of the crusades here)? It was the christians he accused... Zangi was not the best of the "Sultans" from what I understand...
u backup Anwar Bhaiz argument.
Noor uddin Zangi WASNT best, so dat is y others got opportunity to do such filthy act. :D
its not odd. it is without any doubt dat something really bad is done by non-muslims dat is y non muslims were banned to entered those cities.
(if noor uddin Zangi was against jews or something then he might had done genocide of jews)
(acc to my elders even Jinnah's body is not in the grave where we do fatehiha qwani)

sorry dude but we can say the same bout everyone's beloved Salah ud deen ayubi too....sure he was a great Sultan prob one of the best the muslims will ever have.....but dont forget the days when he used to drink and all the other vices before he found the light.!
i suppose this thread is drifted from the original question. As far as i remember the order for Non Muslims to stay Away from Haramain is an interpretation of a Hadith whose crux is that ' let there be no two religions in Arabia'. I cannot quote but i read this as an answer from some scholar on a website.
I wont say why I posted that, but the one who knows about it will understand. Hint Its from a hadith too
May Allah protect us all from the evil within us and the evil outside us. Ameen
