Okay sometimes something happens with my laptop, and everything goes pinkish… I move the screen back or forwards and the problem is resolved, but it’s getting worst, and happens more now.
Anyone know what can be wrong with it?
Re: Graphics of laptop
Could be a number of things including a loose cable from Motherboard to LCD, or an LCD screen that’s going bad, or in the worst case scenario an issue with the Graphics chip/Motherboard.
Needless to say, it will require professional service to resolve the issue permanently. If you’ve never opened a laptop before, do not attempt it. You risk further damaging the sensitive components.
Re: Graphics of laptop
^ All this and you need to buy a new laptop .
Re: Graphics of laptop
I’ve had this laptop for less than a year …can’t really buy new one…will try to get someone to check it …thanks
Re: Graphics of laptop
If like you said, the problem goes away after moving the screen back and forth, then theres a chance that the cable in connecting the screen to the motherboard, which runs through the joint, is severed somewhere, causing bruised images on the screen.
Re: Graphics of laptop
Brand and model of the laptop in question?
It seems to be the LCD ribbon cable that is the culprit in your case. Acer’s aspire/extensa series for one are notorious for such issues where the connector of the cable either detaches itself or becomes loose on the motherboard by the constant lid movement. In response the colors either become distorted (Pink, yellow, green) or there’s absolutely nothing on the lcd except just the back light that is lit (White screen).
This is actually a 2 minute job for a semi-professional to fix, and 10 minutes for a home user. Moreover, It does not put you back a single $ once you’re done.
Re: Graphics of laptop
If within one year, your laptop is still under manufacturer warranty. Contact the manufacturer asap before the warranty runs out. This will be repaired at no cost to you. Outside you can expect to pay a few hundred bucks. Good luck.

Re: Graphics of laptop
it’s either the lcd invertor or the backlight.
(they both require taking the laptop apart and it’s best to replace both)
Re: Graphics of laptop
Okay. I tried to look up the warrant information on that website, first it asked for the serial number, and than the produc number. Can’t figure out which Is the product number. I tried the product key, as well as another number that was on the back. I might have to call them…but thanks…
Re: Graphics of laptop
Product number is the one that says P/N:
Usually ends with #ABA
