Graphic Design related professions in US

One of my friends is doing some graphic design sorta degree in Pakistan. He’s been recently thinking about moving to US but is not sure what kinda career/higher education opportunities he should persue here that related to his field and education. I don’t have any clue myself. Any ideas?

ad agencies should be on his radar. as well as magazine companies and publishing houses like donnelley.

Roman, What kind of graphics? and How graphic are these Graphics?

If he wants to stick to the IT side of graphic arts he could do masters in graphic arts as there is high demand in the gaming industry and the movie industry (think Pixar).

Most of the top Technology schools offer graphics related masters through their CS or arts programs.

If he is more into the asthetics aspects he could look into going to fashion and the like. and as Fraudia said, marketing and ad agencies are all within his reach - though he may need to have some sort of a portfolio built up before he comes here so that he can show them that at interviews.

He can also do an BA/MBA and focus on the marketing side to complement his graphics skills
