Grand!ose Delusions

We often come across such people who are full of their own exaggerated sense of self worth !

Do you allow them to persist with their delusional behaviour or do you tell them straight up that their full of it ?

I usually ignore them but I’ve noticed a lot of people get themselves embroiled with them to the extent that it becomes an obsession in disproving the other persons’ claims !

How would you deal with them ?***

Re: Grand!ose Delusions

I ignore…can’t stand to be arnd ppl who are so full of themselves :snooty:

Re: Grand!ose Delusions

unless someone really is delusional, by arguing to a conclusion, you'll just come to see their point of view and vice versa

Re: Grand!ose Delusions

:hinna:

I will break the delusion. But also make sure their butt land safely on reality land .

Once a guy on our street who was studying to be be hafiz/fiqah aalim went nuts(thats what ppl said) Before he was most smart and gentle guy.
Then suddenly he started believing in strange things.

His statement : (in Green)

“I am going to write a book who would have more knowledge then all the books together, but its only going to be 2 pages”

(He was not over a 130LBS I was 205lbs back then he goes to me)

“You are not better fighter then me. I can kick you in up the air before you fell down I will punch you many times.”

I asked him to kick me, I let him kick on my lat(latissimus) shyne it hurt like hell, but I did not show.

He was so surprised that why did I not go in the air like a ballon. Firts time some one was able to break his delusion.

He use to come to our traning camp and wanted to kick but of the boxers who were training for asian games.

BTW shortly after that he made ful recovery. He is now mashallah a married aalim. And an awesome one.

Shyne sad part is that not the only time i heard those delusional statement. Some ppl are delusional and so sure about them self THAT you often have to do a sanity check on your self while dealing with them.

That's one category, then there's another where the people are out to set everything straight and feel responsible for everyone's actions and life.

Re: Grand!ose Delusions

I guess ignoring is the best ..

Re: Grand!ose Delusions

I ignore normally but sometimes it is necessary to burst their bubble.

Re: Grand!ose Delusions

Normally I ignore them but some times it is necessary to put them in their insignificant place.

Re: Grand!ose Delusions

There is another kind where some nerds develop feeling of being on a power-trip even if the exist only in virtual word.

Re: Grand!ose Delusions

I play the game to let them put as much steam as they can in their delusion and one day that bubble bursts and they get bewildered.

Re: Grand!ose Delusions

***So mixed responses !

While some believe ignoring them is the way to go , others feel the need to give these people a reality check !

But doesn’t it make you wonder if maybe these delusions are in fact ingrained into their psyche and have become a belief system ? :hmmm:

Re: Grand!ose Delusions
