Of particular interest to me is the **Best Electronic/Dance Album **category:
I usually tape this thing and look forward to the live performances. Among this years performers include: Maroon5, Usher, James Brown, Green Day and ofcourse U2.
Miss: Franz Ferdinand is also listed as one of the performers.
The Brit awards were on last night...i think the Scissor Sisters won 3 awards? Their performance was pretty good, as was Franz Fendinand's, not forgetting Robbie Williams and Joss Stone performing together!!
Big night for Ray Charles "Genius Loves Company", winning a total of 8 grammys.
Best new artist went to Maroon 5. Best rock album went to Green Day for "American idiot". Best rap album to Kanye West. Best Rock performance to U2 for "Vertigo". Best R&B album to Usher.
The dance/electronic album category that I was following was a disappointment. It went to Basemen Jaxx. I aint quite thrilled by them.
As far as the performance go, Green Day, Usher/James Brown, Alicia Keys/Jamie Foxx topped my list.
The best one was Usher and James Brown. The Godfather of Soul passed the torch to the new godfather of soul - Usher.
Joss Stone was up agasint stiff competition, Ray Charles and Norah Jones. She didnt win. Same with Fraz Ferdinand, up against U2. They live performances were good. Bono had nice words to say about Franz Ferdinand when he came to pick up the grammy best short form music video (Vertigo). He said this band will kill this country (amreeka i.e) :p
