Re: Governor Punjab Salman Taseer murdered in Islamabad
You have raised some very good points.
Ideally, political parties and leaders should use good governance and genuine service to rule peoples’ heart and take the nation forward. However, if one takes examples from history of different nations. Some leaders with corrupt mindset combine religion with politics in order to gain control over masses. Consequently, if someone revolts against them, or refuse to being oppressed, they use the religion card. Simply put, if one reacts against their fraudulent system, they make it look like a reaction against religion, and create extreme violence and bloodshed in the name of righteousness. This manipulation of religion is not something new, and certainly not new to Islam.
However, if the leaders are righteous and dedicated, they can use the same technique of combining faith and politics in order to strengthen the nation, to expand it, to flourish it, to make it successful and prosperous, to put checks and balances, and to gather everyone on one platform. Faith and morality are two very important pillars of good governance.
