Are you aware of the great game being played in the region, Army was preparing for this operation, they were taking-over/establishing their units on the peaks of the mountain-region. No country in the world can handle 2 million IDPs, name a single country who have done it!!! Pakistan ( failed state to many) with the Help and mercy of Allah has been able to tackle the problem, these i really appreciate the sacrifice these people have made because if they didn't do it, the whole Pakistan might have turned into refugee camps and war-zone.. would you be happy with that!!!
On the front that Pakistan should have planned the war well, my believe is, Pakistan has one of the most professional and brave army around the globe, and they have done their homework, thats why they have been successful so far, against these trained guriellas of foriegn powers. ^ I agree with you to the point that our army is deligent in war fare. I disagree with the fact that army can be considered a tool in making a political decision. I mean lets not forget Yahya khan was from army, broke the nation, musharraf was from army and its his mistakes that we are paying penance for right now. Its not the army i have trouble with, nor would i belittle or make jokes about soliders who are fighting right now, however i donot think that military operation would be a solution to our problems. I sincerely hope that i am wrong, but i donot think that i am. Now we are supposed to start off in waziristan, this is too much blood shed and meanwhile we havent got enough ideas to deal with IDPs and those traitors who will come dressed as IDPs .We had similar crisis in previous afghan war, where i think Zia handled the situation much better than musharraf and zardari but made the same mistakes regarding IDPs, they need to be monitored (and terrorism went upward in his time as well), if we say we donot have enough man power to do that well than why the hell did we embark on this military operation? what will that achieve if the bomb blasters can roam freely? Taliban need to be dealt with swiftly but right now we got more anarchy and ill defined goal, dont see how this will be dealt with.

Yehya and Musharaf were from Army, but both them had great lust for power, both of them couldn't see anything beyond their nose.
One cannot compare orange with an apple, Kiyani on the other hand, has (so far) shown no lust for power, although he had great chance to take over couple months back, he could have taken over, re-instate the CJ and pooooooh got the public support, but he kept himself in the position of solving Pakistan's problem, he is doing the same as of we speak.

Govt did had an agreement with these Sufi Muhammad and his fellow men, and what happend, they instead of applying the model in Swat, started to take over Buner and other areas, Sufi Mohammad, couldn't digest the success and we got in the situation where operation is the only option, Didn't US and Every one in the and out of Pakistan opposed the peace deal??? I remember few were ready to invade and few were ready to invite these foreign forces to Invade Pakistan... would that be a better situation???
Now as the operation is in progress the arms the level of training.. would you accept that it the Talibans who are dying hard to impose Shriah Law are begging US-AFGHAN-INDIAN consortium to fund and train them and the consourtium is so sincere in imposing Shariah that they have decided to help them with every thing they can???
This operation was and is was not desired but yes was predicted by many, one can say that Govt and Army did try all the means to avoid the operation but these thugs who call themselves taliban listen to none but their master who have only one wish, i.e., disintegrate Pakistan or atleast de-stablize Pakistan.
