Government Policies Totally Failed in Swat Crisis!

Spock: Howelse do you propose should we have dealt with this nuisance? sat on the problem till the militants multiplied from 5,000 (that is just a rough government estimate) to 50,000 perhaps 100, 000…till the problem became insurmountable!!

And just because some of us support military operation in Swat does not mean that we supported military action against Baluchis and East Pakistanis in the past (we do understand their sense of discrimination and have sympathy for them). That is not to say that troublemakers whereever they maybe should not be dealt with. Bugti was challenging the writ of the government and his goons destroying state property - railway tracks, gas pipelines etc. Besides the fight for your rights or the fight to end discrimination (Bengalis, Baluchis) is not the same as the fight to impose your barbaric way of life (Talibs) on the masses. What the Taliban thugs were doing was nothing but open rebellion against the state and the government and military had to act to end the death and destruction in the North-West

FT: I do agree though that the government should have set up camps and done a full risk (financial; health - that some of these IDPs may need medical treatment; hygiene; security - terrorists hiding in camps as civilians etc.) assessment before starting the operation. They should have made financial arrangements beforehand and not gone looking for money after people started migrating in their 1000s. As it is we desis (government and people alike) are not as organsied or disciplined as western societies (you see that in queues etc. almost daily)

jahilon ko kabhi baat samajh me nahe aa sakti i have many times said that im not a supporter of talibans but propaganda cells always propagate.
