Gospel: Christianity's sufism?

I was just wondering about this, is Gospel and those who preach the Gospel similar to the Sufi sect of Islam?

Their message is often conveyed through chants and the message of love, and well..you get the picture…

Re: Gospel: Christianity's sufism?

^ Peace teggy bro

Umm ... in a nutshell there are two concepts of the word sufi. One is the order which is detatched from Islam and promotes mysticism only and its practices are done for Euphoria and have in themselves no further benefit than yoga, etc. The second is a station attained by those people who are muhsin and practice excellence in Islam. They will not only pray five times a day but will do so with utmost concentration and devout focus. They will not just fulfil the rights of others, but will be prepared to sacrifice their own. The two brands could not be further apart.

I hasten to add this distinction because you mention the word Christian. I trust you mean the evangelical Christian missionaries. Their message is actually that God Loves us that we need to accept his sacrifice for our sins. However, the sufi love of the second type is one that is to be developed in the hearts of the believer towards Allah (SWT) through his prophet Muhamamd (SAW), i.e. We must love both beyond our ownselves.

There are number of sufi sects none of which are part of Islam, but to be a sufi does not mean one is from one of those sects, they could be either shi'a or sunni Muslims who practice tassuwuf.

Re: Gospel: Christianity's sufism?

JazakAllah for the explanation and shedding some light on that br. Psyah.

Re: Gospel: Christianity’s sufism?

nice explaination :k:

Re: Gospel: Christianity's sufism?

True Christianity leads to Islam

Re: Gospel: Christianity's sufism?

Neither Tasawuf, nor sufi-ism was advised by the prophet SAW.

True or false?

Re: Gospel: Christianity's sufism?

^ This is a false question brother ...

Tassuwuf is the domain for the acts of ihsan just like aqeedah are the principles which govern our iman.

The practice of tasuwuf is simply doing more than we are required to do, but not beyond what we are forbidden to do.

Extra charity
Jihad
Dawah
Sacrificing our own rights for the sake of others
Polishing the character
Much remembrance of Allah

You see even aqeedah and fiqh are something new but scholars have developed schools around these to represent the three areas of the Jibreel hadith ...

Iman, Islam and Ihsan. I hope this answers your concerns.

Iman is what you believe
Islam is what you say or do
Ihsan is the polishing of the other two leading to a state of true taqwa

How can a question which ends with true or false, be false ?

I wrote a statement and asked if this was true or false.

It appears you are saying the statement was false.

The question by itself was not false.

Peace.

:) Now that is absolutely true!

Sincere apologies

Its alright. No need to apologize Bro.
