Mere Knowledge about an oddity does’t offer a recipe to fight the oddity, admission, on the other hand, has more chances to impart a resolve to fight against what is “admittedly wrong”

But again I used the word “can” which leaves a lot of space for the willingness and strong intention. Generally obsession of any kind can be attributed to a gap or loss in the life of the person.

We owe most from our parents, they are the engines of our "nature", but its not that simple we force our genetic structure to mutate, just like a virus though it takes years and years for a good or bad mutation. You may call it a baloney but a habitual liar does pass on his habit of lying to his offspring.

My parents were both down to earth and I am no exception, somewhat introvert but with a strong sense of "ego". And by ego I mean "khudee of Iqbal". Books were the real friends of my father. The strongest personality trait that I got from my Mother was not to complain, its an amazing characteristic of any personality and an epic among the recopies of happiness.
