try out "Macromedia Central"...it's a desktop prototype app ...sort of something where you have applications runnning like a movies browser, weather and news headlines etc in a graphically appealing console..pretty cool stuff

I remember reading a vulnerability of the google desktop … but i think it was fixed … something like that …

Oh that’s great … I tested the professional version of copernic a few days ago … I must say that it has good chances of becoming a very effective tool … just the lack of search engines is a bit of a put off, not to forget the ‘time out’ that I’ve encountered a couple of times. I like the categorization … only if they could make it more effective. In some categories it does wonders but in others it a flop … google does a lot better. Infact, I was wondering if google could come up with a similar tool .. that would be awesome!!!

No, not a vulnerablity, per say. If you have a shared 'puter others can see ur stuff. Plus some other obvious ones, like all the info on a platter for a thief or a passer-by etc etc

I agree - there’s still a lot of room for improvement… but I’d use this instead of the generic MS search tool anyday! and yes… Google is a close second
