Why don’t more girls learn to cook when they are young? My children have been helping me in the kitchen since they were tall enough to stand on a stool and stir the cookie dough. As a result my teenage son makes excellent salan and better roti than I do. I never bought into this "my children are studying so they can’t cook/clean/do manual labor.

I agree amana. My parents did this with us, and as a result, my poor hubby had frequent stomach aches for the first few months of our marriage

Oh well, it’s a lesson learnt, and now i know better for when my daughters grow up. Cooking is an essential life skill, so i think parents should help their children to familiarise themselves with it at a young age.

Yep. I’m all for child labour.
