Dont know if this is the correct forum or not, but I am posting it here anyway.
Couple of days back when I just stopped the car on The Mall to get some cold drink. I saw my old college professor walking towards me, approached me & asked politely “Do you know where is Allied Book Depot”. We both paused for a second & then he hugged me … saying “Najim, how are u … its been a long time since I have seen you.”
I was speechless for few moments and told him my last 16 years what did I do where I lived etc etc.
In the end I asked him, How did u remember me for that long & even recognised me after 16 years. He said, “Some students can never be forgotton. Each teacher gets few in his career, you are one of those special ones”.
But I am wondering, am I the special one, or is he the special one who remembered me & even recognised me after that long period. He must have taught to thousands of students in colleges, but he remembered me.
Yeah its a nice feeling i know. You know whats even more fun! When your younger sibling ends up getting the same teacher and they have to keep the image or try to do better then you did.
I get to hear that every now and then from my siblings…
Yep same here!
It is even more interesting if they remember your name esp. living in a non desi society our names are bit hard to pronounce let alone remember
