Glad you raised the point Ali, no one has any doubt that the military action was very much needed and if anything it was delayed. People can agree/disagree on the timing of the action and talks but calling someone Taliban Khan just because he proposed talks first is quite ridiculous, if it's not then people's silence today shows their hypocrisy. Are Chinese, Afghans, Americans and Pakistanis pro Taliban now and are they promoting Taliban ideology by conducting and facilitating peace talks?

So, after decades of claiming that the "Good Taliban" are not in Pakistan, Pakistan does not where they are, Pakistan have no control or influence over them and so on, Pakistan produces them for negotiations in Islamabad of all places. Was the fantom Mullah Umar present or did he remain sleeping in his grave?
Pakistan have been pursuing this path for long. The Taliban Khan have been parroting what he was told to say. Now they have gotten close to what they wanted. Shame on them. No blame on sane people that oppose this shell game.

Shah sahib there is some ideological difference and let me give my 2 cents.
what Imran Khan, PMLN, Ch Nisar, were advocating to do for a very long time was to negotiate with animals called tehrik taliban pakistan TTP. TTP and Afghani talibans are different with different agendas. TTP has nothing to do with war in Afghanistan.
TTP agenda is to implement sharia in pakistan. they are killing our soldiers and cutting their head and blowing themselves up in our cities and killing innocent pakistanis....so our war with TTP is very personal and Pakistan oriented and alas, Imran khan and PMLN wanted to negotiate with these animals TTP. IK and Syed Munawas Hssan used to get upset when TTP leaders were killed in drone attacks. astaghfarullah.
and the term good taliban and bad taliban was also primarily used within TTP context. Within TTP, our amy had favorites. They wanted to save some to release against india in kashmir. Genral sharif finished that distinction.
now if we are sitting with TTP in the same room again and negotiating, your criticism will be 100% spot on but that is not the case.
The negotiations are going on between afghan taliban and Afghani govt and we are coordinating them. as such we pakistanis including liberals never said that kill all afghan taliban. in pak general consensuses has been that afghan taliban are fighting against americans.

Dear Mysterious …Imran Khan sympathy towards TTP is far more deeper, strategic, ideological, and emotional than saying “lets have a talk with TTP”.
he was visibly upset when that animal mehsud was killed in a drone attack. he supported them for over 7 years.He urged govt to allow opening of Pakistani Taliban office in Pakistan. Every mini operation that army did against TTP, Imran opposed it.
So Yes army could have started the major operation zarbae azab against TTP earlier as no one can stop them but IK is one of the biggest reasons why we did not have consensuses against TTP in Pakistan for so long.
and remember IK did that not PTI. PTI supporters and leadership inherently are of anti-TTP DNA but they were all shell-shocked by imran and his stand. as always, they did not have guts to criticize their beloved leader and kept on supporting him with ridiculous excuses on TTP issue.

@Ali_Syed …sir jee please read last 3-4 paragraphs. Imran khan and others did not let consensuses develop against TTP and in result let hundreds of innocent Pakistanis killed by TTP. but afghan taliban is a separate issues.

Afghan Taliban are the same people whom we know as haqqani network and Quetta shura, and these were the people residing in NWA and Quetta. I am sure you’d remember some people chanting a few months ago that Taliban are all the same, not to differentiate. The same good Taliban were left untouched by Pakistan and being targeted through US drones. It’s good that United States itself is sitting on the sidelines while these people talk to the afghans. Imran khans logic was that if you sideline all Taliban groups you will not be able to sit and talk to them when required, don’t know if that stance has been vindicated yet or not. At some stage negotiation will be needed. We can see the same happening in Yemen these days, Saudis have started s war but now they want houthis to join negotiations to help them withdraw from the battle:

Good Taliban were those residing in NWA, they were focussed in Afghanistan and not Pakistan. mike Mullen had called haqqani network a veritable arm of ISI.

Pakistan had kept an avenue open in case the afghans want to reconcile. Those who are advocating these people good Taliban are no different to those who had been marketing them as warriors when they rose to prominence in the 90’s, good people who stopped poppy cultivation and brought peace in Afghanistan.
