Re: good tailor recommendations for toronto
What is the going rate these days for a suit?
I'm asking because I'd like to know what a "rip off" would be.
I know of a woman that sews very, very well but is not cheap. Her tailoring is professional quality and she can replicate pretty much anything.....but her pricing is not bargain basement.
Re: good tailor recommendations for toronto
I know a lady in saskatoon who did some sewing for me last summer, she sew a sana safinaz lawn top and bottom with all the pattis etc and a cigar trouser, she didnt do any special designing only followed how it was supposed to be done and she charged me $30 for that, then she did two chiffon ones for me those she charged 40 each because lining for qameez, this is all without the cost of any materials. I loved her sewing and each one of those suits fit me really well.
I thought what she charged me was reasonable, in toronto I tried couple of ladies and one in Mississauga, neither did I like their stitching or attitudes, when I pointed things I wanted to be changed they all made faces, I mean come on I cant grow taller or put on weight so that the naap I gave at the time of stitching order wont fit which was within a month. This was 5-7 years ago. After that I never dared going looking for one. At that time I paid 25 for lawn and a bit extra for a silk suit.
When I got these kapre stitched last summer, now I want more :) female laa-lach(greed)!!! this lady I mentioned from saskatoon is moving to toronto, but not for anther 5-6 months and she is winding her business there, I have asked my ppl in sk to find out if she will continue here or not but in the meantime I need something stitched tu I thought I would post here to see if anybody has good recommendations. thanks
