We just got PTV Prime at home and it will be great if someone can give a list of good programs to watch with family.
My family is not into movies but Pakistani Dramas used to be their fav.

Nowadays the only dramas that I'm watching is Zaib-un-Nisa which comes on Tuesdays at 10:00 and Dhoop Kinare on Mondays. I've heard that Yeh Zindagi was good...haven't seen it. Family Front and Misfit are good comedies..
Since its winter vacation, and I was curious to see if Prime improved at all - I had my father get it just for a month. We've got the channel until the 26th.
I am disappointed that there aren't so many good music shows.
Pop gun - its okay - but the host gets really annoying with her gun motion she makes with her hands - absolutely corny. Questions to celebrities are unimaginative.
e-songs -- is it still going on? I haven't gotten a chance to see it, because i've not been home on saturday evenings this break.
sunday ke sunday - its one of the better shows. maria wasti is a decent host.
rhythym - its a lot better than it used to be. The host is much better. But, still, the same unimaginative questions.
I was really disappointed to see that these guys aren't playing the latest videos as much as they play the same ghissay-pittay videos of last summer. I feel bad for prime subscribers who have had to watch the same videos for about a year now.
oh yeah, the dramas (majority-wise) suck. Lab-e-Darya has some potential. The others are absolutely beqaar. Wohi thakey huey dialogue.
And I saw the New Year's special for Dream Saturday. What the HELL was all that about? The whole 3 or 4 hours, they were talking about themselves and the show. I mean, it was a special about THEM. What they should have done, especially since their show was the only one to show a new year's special and Prime didn't do anything else for new years, was to round up the year with flashbacks of 2003 ENTERTAINMENT, not 2003 Sarmad and more Sarmad!
Grrr.
WHAT GOOD SHOWS?
lately they have been showing the same old repeat episodes of sunday kay sunday, misfit and family front and a few other shows
e-songs is good and up to date
drama's like PCG said all are beqaar except for zaib-un-nisa which is about to come to an end, ankahi was good, and as for yeh zindagi it's been on prime before
There's a new one started on tuedays called something like pooray chand ki raat...that looks good
I can't stand godfather...dont know why it's still on! sunehray mausam, tarkash all boring qisam kay drama's.
HAPPY PRIME VIEWING!

I'm assuming you'll be watching Prime with your parents as well? I don't think they are into the music, they could be but i get the feeling they aren't :p Good dramas these days are primarily the old ones and they air monday thru thursday at 10pm (Din, TanhayaN, zaib-un-nisa, dhoop kinaray). The 8 o'clock dramas worth watching are only lab-e-darya (thursday), mujhe pyar chahiye (saturday) and tarkish (sunday). Music shows PcG has already mentioned. They have tilawat every morning at 6am-7am, and 9am-10am. They have a ghazaal program on tuesday evenings. Umm what else, I know the above sounds like khichri but i listed them as they came to mind. Hope it helped.

Thanks guys ...
Do they air any kid shows?
What is the drama called that is on Saturday evenings? It stars Zeba Bakhtiar and Farah Shah as a psycho obsessed with this guy. I think it is a great drama and really enjoy it! It's good to see Farah expanding on her acting skills by playing such a negative role for once.

I hope one day we can fill these up
I don't find PTV that bad. In fact, I quite enjoy most of the dramas and even the music shows they air. In the comedy department, I don't always get the humour so they could improve on that end. :p
I like their music shows, especially those combined with fashion shows ![]()
PTV fails to represent brown girls like me though. :( What annoys me is that all the girls from the hosts to actresses look European. sigh Then again, that can be found on all the desi channels. C'est la vie!
Mehnaz, they might look European but they turn into real Pakis once they start speaking. ![]()
And they are all brown girls, just an extra touch of the white stuff. You have got to see Maria Wasti (hostess of Sunday Kay Sunday) in person. She is very coffee-ish. ![]()
Its been almost half an hour and FF has not responded to your post. This must be a record ![]()

I'm as worried as you are happy. Hope everything's fine with her.

That is true. Mehnaz, it's all in the camera tricks re: appropriate lighting angles and heavy extra-light makeup for the most part. Some of the girls tend to be light naturally but some others like Maria Wasti are made to appear that way. Sadly, for some odd reason, our society has a color-consciousness problem, God only knows why. Indians don't have such an issue though. You only have to look at their movies or dramas to find out.
