a friend is leaving for pak in 2 weeks and will be staying for 2months. he wants to have a good reliable high speed ISP to manage his online business from there during his stay. he wants to know which companies in lahore provide good high speed internet service. i don’t think money is an issue here.

dont take my word for it..but i believe Warid Telecom offers DSL service. i've seen their ads while in lahore...go for like Rs. 2500/month or something like that....

If money is not issue then he can ring PTCL directly & have a digital DSL line installed, 2MB stream is now a days offered for around 6000 a month (Domestic rates with 10GB CAP) or 15000 a month (Commercial Rate - Unlimited). Further information can be obtained from them.
This information is around 2 months old (when my brother had his DSL installed at home) so it may have been changed now.

I think its too late to apply for any broadband service. installation can take anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months, believe me, no matter what they say. Yes, if youre lucky, you will get it in a couple of days, but realistically, its too late.
He could try and have someone initiate the application process with PTCL or Wateen.....but no guarantees.
Best is to go for dialup....or get a wireless phone, and use that for net. Its not exactly broadband, but is slightly faster than dialup.
