Mods to send out a pm to inform posters as to why their posts have been deleted.
Few mods do seem to do this, seems like not only are they competent but have good manners too.
Usually when one is not informed it is inferred that the mod disagrees with the posters opinion, thus causing unnecessary confusion which may lead to unecessary confrontations.
I happen to be IT illiterate - so a suggestion for Azkar to take into consideration for the next update, when a mod deletes a post, if there is a "drop-down menu" for the mod to select from as the reason for removing the post, which then gets sent as an automated PM to the poster would resolve some unhappiness or the guesswork for why a post was deleted.
It would also allow the mod team to maintain stats on why posts are being deleted and show trends for the mod team to consider if stats matter.
The drop down menu could have reasons for deletion that are agreed upon by the Mod team. For example, "inappropriate language" "off-topic" "flooding" "seond warning", etc., and then the fallback of "other", as a reason for deletion where the reasons doesn't fall into one of the agreed upon categories.
It's just a humble suggestion, but hope worth considering.
Milly, it is quite difficult to send pm's when you have to remove a wide range of posts. I have 5 forums and it is practically impossible for me to send dozens or even more pm's everyday explaining why posts are removed.
Please, lets not start assuming things, that mods remove the post they don't agree with. If that was the case, PA would have been filled with "Pro/praise Imarn Khan threads"... same goes with all forums.
Rest, we all make mistakes but we all can help each other and make this place more fun.

Happy Posting! :)
In reply to your first paragraph, refer to Sehrysh's comments. I think that makes sense.
I did not say 'assumptions' I said 'inferred' Today a poster asked a question about a thread and their post was removed without reason nor was their question answered and it could have been, it was not a difficult question. What is that poster to think...their question is not valid? Their opnions do not matter?
Some mods do have the attitude that it is their forum therefore only their opinions, and those of the people who agree with their opinions are important.
I have no idea about what goes on in PA. I do not visit that forum (and im pretty sure soon I shall be denied the privilage to visit any other forum for that matter).
I read Sheriysh's comments.... we mods have requested Azkar for such an option for a long time.
I am not going to comment on that specific post as I am not sure what exactly happened. Niksik will get back to you on that specific thread's issue.
Anyway, like I said we all can resolve things in a peaceful manner and maybe when a post has been removed and the poster is not sure why it was, they can always send the mods a pm asking to look into it.
You are a valuable poster, we sure appreciate and value your suggestions/feedback :)
Sorry for the late reply. I was off, trying to find shoes to go with my outfit that I have to wear at a graduation next week…but alas nothing my size. Then I come back and find that you all aren’t happy with us .
Why o why can’t we all live in peace? We have rifts at home don’t we? At work, at play? And GS isn’t much different. SO many people with so many opinions.
I too wish we had a way to notify people when we move threads…we had an auto system a long time ago but it’s been disabled due to something technologically above my head. I do try to notify when possible but I have to admit it isn’t possible always. I know it’s a bit odd that you’ve posted something and all of a sudden it’s gone. But we as mods go through this too. Sometimes my own mod moves my post and doesn’t tell me .
You can ask.
I apologize for the behavior of any mod that may not have operated according to your expectations. I take it as personal responsibility as I am the Channel Manager of the Lifestyle section and I should communicate more effectively with my team. However, like I always say, that maybe if you keep in mind that we are working here with the best of intentions you could soften your feelings toward mods in general. We do not enjoy as many privileges as the responsibilities that come our way, and we do it all on a volunteer basis. Yes we do make mistakes.
Thank you for your suggestions. We will try our best to implement what we can and learn from our mistakes.
Please continue to post, but with a good attitude. Thanks.
Also please PM me if you have any specific concerns that need to be taken care of.
You have to try Zappos! OMG - I am their walking/talking advertisement - I’ve bought literally dozens of pairs from them. Buy online as many pairs as you want to try on with the outfit, you get free shipping and the ones you don’t want, you ship back - free shipping. You can’t go wrong!!!
If you’re in a rush, ask for VIP client service and they’l provide you with next day shipping.
BTW Niksik, you are one of the authoritative figures on GS that I find knows how to solve problems in a diplomatic manner!!! There are a only a 1 or 2 more…but you are the best :k:
I would never ignore you :hugz: I had to check out the shoes to see whether they are worthy of your feet. Me likey! When you come to see me, I’ll order the shoes - but you must make an in-person visit
