I recently switched my family doctor and was wondering whether I need her referral for a Ob- Gyn or can I look for one myself and register there? I did not have a very good experience with my previous family doc, and have been having some gyne issues lately so hubby things I should have a gynecologist. I have been reading reviews on Ob-Gyn and I need a female doctor who practices in Etobicoke and preferably Trillium. Came across a few so can I ask my family doc to refer me to them/her or can I go see one myself? Some guidance and suggestions needed!
You will need a referral from your family doctor and thy usually just send you to any gynecologist closest to the area unless you have been seen by someone else before or you know someone you really want to be seen by.
Do you have a preference for female Gynae's? I've been to Dr. Michael Rosset and he's excellent. My family doctor hooked me up with him. he's been practicing for 30 something years and very professional. his clinic is at the trillium at 190 Sherway Dr (directly opposite from Sherway Gardens West Mall) in Etobicoke. He doesn't deliver babies anymore though.
Thanks tranquil! Female would be ideal, i just feel I'd be more comfortable with one, however, my mum had Setna and I've been to him too (and he doesnt deliver babies anymore either) :)
I need some reviews on good gynae's....can I ask my doc to refer me to a specific one? I've read good reviews on Dr. Brenda Johnston...anyone been to her?
^ its so weird, Dr Brenda Jhonston shares office space with Dr. rosset! the very same office at trillium. i even saw her once , she was on the phone while i was waiting for my appointment with dr. rosset, and she sounded really nice . i think she was calling her patients back and she sounded very courteous and polite. I read her reviews and she has a 5/5.
