Its sad but true. But I think people have been this "superficial" since God knows how many centuries.
But then like they say jorey asman par bantey hain..there must be some truth to that, no? So I think maybe at face value it might seem like the most khoobsurat larka/larki will get tons of good rishtas, but you will really end up with whoever God has chosen for you and he will make sure that you see that person as a beautiful person. Have you ever noticed a couple where one of them is really good-looking and you might think the girl could have done much better than that? but maybe the girl finds her hubbyy reallllly good-looking? so I feel its all part of God's bigger system. No one is at a loss - neither good-looking people nor not-so-good looking people. (because I dont believe anyone could be ugly, becaue how could God make his own beloved creatures ugly? that is just not possible, maybe the person who has the guts to call someone ugly is full of ugliness from within.)
So I guess the onus is on us to be able to look beyond face value, when faced with such situations. Because ThankFully God makes the final decision.
