there are studies that show that in general good looking ppl on avg make more, get hired easily and go farther in their careers. It does not mean its a universal truth and applies in all cases or that looks supercede ability, but good looks plus ability trumps avg looks plus ability in general.
Why is it that once a beautiful person is seen...Two strong notions come to mind.....Like or Dislike!! Depending on the situation ...If a couple sees a good looking girl...he might like her...but the wife would usually have the other reaction...:Ddid u see how rude she was as she was walking past us"...Did u notice how she was loaded with make up...her hair was dyed...must be because she has all white hair underneath...blah blah ba blah....The guy gets so grossed out...the next time a girl walks by...his skins crawls....
The other scene would be a good looking guy walking by....first of all a Desi Lady will not follow her gaze towards the guy....but if that were to happen....The guy starts talking about how guys in general are the worst of the creatures in the face of the earth. They r good for nothing, especially the ones that take care of themselves too much(Looks)....don't earn that much...are selfish, Steroids what not.....Blah blah blah blah .....
This scene plays in somewhat one way or the other....Further more if as a couple they meet with a couple where one spouse is really good looking....one way or the other , their so called friends look for their faults to be displayed to their own spouses .....The concept of "Beauty is only skin Deep".....You are better off with me....Beautiful people are not what they seem...
If anybody can See the Movie MALENA , a very touching movie about Looks and the common concept about beautiful people and reaction of the people around them.
I heard this quote by a comedian "I am sick and tired of hearing people say Beauty is only skin deep...What are they looking for...A bEAUTIFUL Intestine".....:)
whaoo.....thnx! well atleast u knw wat m talkin about.....and whatever u have said is true, the above said situations occur when we have some kind of insecurity within us. If somebody is 'confident' n more importantly 'happy' with themselves then this wudn't really happen in my opinion.
ever hear the saying..."beauty is in the eye of the beholder".
I've always believed that each person has their own interpertation of "good looking".
Also, looks grow on a person. Even if your initial opinion of a person is "less than average".... after a little while they won't seem so bad to you... you grow more tolerance for their looks. (just my humble opinion)
