it means we have changed our religious understanding. every Tom, Dick N Harry is interpreting Qur'aan and aHaadees to his own whims and desires.
in this 'daur-e-fitnaa', i would rather stick to the basics of Islam because there is a Hadees about Prophet [saws] asking saHaaba-e-Karaam [r.a. ajma'iin] if they had seen a jannatii? saHaabaa's [r.a. ajma'iin] told him [saws] that they did NOT see. Nabii-e-Kareem [saws] mentions a Baddoo who had just left after inquiring the bare necessities of Islam from the Huzoor [saws]. He [saws] told him to observe 5 pillars of Islam. the Baddoo said he will observe the 5 pillars of Islam...NO more or NO less!
Sarkaar-e-do 'aalam [saws] said if this man does what he promised to do will surely go to janna..

i would rather stick to 5 pillars of Islam in order NOT to go astray. i would rather be in ONE group out of 73 which is naajii [on the right path].
