there is Govt funded daycare available. to qualify, the mother has to be a working mom. i'm NOT too sure if it's meant ONLY for lower-income people or is universally accessible to ALL Canadians.

if you do settle in and around forest hill, just visit one of the parks on a weekend. lots of nannies there and you can always ask them or other parents for referrals. there is a very strong network of philippino nannies here. you can also opt to have a live-in, if you have space.

^ thats is a v good option, when my son was young, we used to do nanny share with on of our friends' nanny. We are looking into buying something around deer park inshallah, lets see... thanks for your suggestions, SGC!! lets meet sometime, or have a guppy get togetheer soon! I was telling khalil that me and my hubby need to meet some like minded families with young kids...

^SGC, we moved close to our work, not a great school neighborhood, kind of regretted the decision, but looking at long term 2-3 years goal, hope this will be worth it, biggest reason for the move was to cut our commute time, and we did cut our time by almost 80%. Thanks for sharing to link above…

^ great decision re: commuting. i hated commuting. the day my company moved downtown was one of the happiest days of my life haha.

you can always move later on if the school isn’t working out for your kiddo.
