So I’ve recently gone crazy for maxi dresses. I keep finding these amazing ones on random sites, but they never point out where I can actually buy it.
Most of the stores in Toronto have the ugliest maxi dresses. I like maxi dresses that are unique, that have some individual flare to them…not like ones that all look the same.
I can’t seem to find any gorgeous ones in the stores here…in fact most stores don’t even carry them and the ones that do are so “blah.”
I’ve posted photos of the ones I found online that I really like. Tell me what you think and PLEASE tell me if you know of any good stores where I can get some really pretty ones! Thanks!
OMG SAME! I am in LOVEE with these dresses! I recently found really nice matierial and decided to make a dress out of it however since I have been so busy in wedding preps I havnt had the time to finish it! I love all of these and need a nice one to wear to my bridal and would also love any suggestions on where I can get them! Toronto, Ottawa...we have nothing! Either their to plain..or not a nice print.
What kinds of cardigans can be worn with these? Long or short?..medium? sweaterish? light?

I totally agree all the ones here are so plain or ugly prints. As for what can be worn with them...i'd go with a light weight cotton cardigan (not the sweater material).
It's interesting you mention stiching one yourself...because I just shared my maxi woes with my mother who said I should ask the darzi guy we know if he can stich a maxi dress for me...this way I can pick out exactly what material/color/print I want. It's just that it seems a lot of work...I wish I could just find gorgeous ones in the stores!
I just bought another one from Gap. BR also had nice ones. Oh and BCBg has a very nice selection of chiffon dresses. Checkout Vaughan Mills and Yorkdale.
any of u kuriyan out there own any maxi’s? i am OBSESSED with them. they are my passion… at first i wasnt sure, cos i thought it was a ghori thing, but then i started seeing asian ladies in them and they look soo elegant. soo am in luv now…

I just went to a store called Gabriel Brothers, here in the USA. They get overstocked items from all sorts of name brand stores and resell it at a lower price. I got 8 maxi dresses for 10-15 dollars each. I love them. In the summer, I work a lot at festivals so I need something flowy, lightweight, and flattering. Top it with a light cardigan (because they usually have thin straps), and you're good to go!
They actually remind me of sleeveless pishwaz, especially if you wear leggings under them.
