I recently had a beautiful baby girl who is almost 3 months old now. Im having a great time bieng a mum and love my girl to death,my husband is the best and we love each other very much, however im having some weight issues,i piled on a lot of weight after i got pregnant and now im having problems getting rid of it.I was 98 pounnds before i got preg and now im 116…and when you’re only 5ft tall it doesnt look too good!
The thing is i cant seem to be losing it, iv tried soo many things like the atkins, a low fat diet and even tried starving myself(i know not a good idea) but nothing is working. This is sooo depressing because i always thought id be able to lose the extra weight since iv easily been able to do so before. In the past iv lost 12 pounds on the atkins(yeah i gained a lot that time!) so how come its not working now? i appreciate any advice…im desperate
Are you still breastfeeding?
no..i never breastfed to begin with. I had a really hard time, the milk was just not flowing and she was crying non stop from hunger so i gave her the bottle to satisfy her appetite until i started flowing but by then she was just tooo used to her bottle!
Well I know that breastfeeding burns up an extra 500 or so calories a day and makes your uterus contract so your stomach gets flatter quicker too.
But on the other hand, if you're not breastfeeding then it means you can go excercise and cut back on your food without worrying too much.........obviously nothing too drastic as you still have a newborn baby to look after as well as yourself.
I think U should give it more time.
Exercise and try to eat low fat foods intead of
starving yourself. U will be able to loose it in few months.:)
Sajal's right........three months isn't really that long. It took you nine months to gain it so you can't expect to get back to pre baby weight that quickly.
Please please please take my advice and exercise. If you want to go back to shape and look better than ever, do it. I have started a serious exercise routine after 2 years after the birth of my daughter, just because I ended up with some labor complications, but i feel better now more than ever. I am realistic and try to go at least 3 times a week. I cannot do more than that and thats a realistic evaluation.
So, whatever you can do, do it and then build up on it as time goes along. Diets are nothing but a part-time fad. They wear off sooner or later.
Best of luck.
I agree with Diva, you need to eat a well balanced diet, not fad, starvation diets. Plus exercise is the key to speeding up your metabolism. You realistically can't expect to be pre-baby shape within the first six months or so. You must be sleep deprived right now, so don't stress out over weight.
jsut wondering..how exactly do those actresses and supermodels get back into their previous shape before they had a baby???

That's one extreme to the other Sara, they begin working out and dieting pretty much as soon as they give birth.........but then again their careers depend on it so the long term consequences don't matter so much.
if
calorie intake > calorie burn = weight gain
calorie intake < calorie burn = weight loss
it is so simple. this doesn't mean you eat less to lose the weight. just up the metabolism by exercising.
98?
but isn’t that a bit too low for your age? i don’t think 116 is that bad but are you thinking of going back to being 98 again? :-/
i’ve heard crazy things about being in that weight category, just a quick question did you have any problems with your delivery? cuz i’ve heard lots of scary things about ppl being skinny n stuff
but yea exercising would be the great thing and walking really helps. these diets especially starving ur self is really not gonna help u to tell u the truth and eating veges n fruits would help instead of the faty stuff
btw congratulations for the new born and wut’s her name if u don’t mind asking? ![]()

As far as my labour and delivery was concerned Allah ka shukar hai that was really good-i got the epidural and it worked wonders.(mashalla).However i had A LOT of heavy bleeding throughout the first 3 months.there was a 50 percent chance of a miscarriage, on 2 occassions my husband and i even called up our parents to tell them it was all over but by the grace of Allah when we went to the hospital there she was on the ultrasound moving around(mashallah)my baby girl is nothing short of a miracle! also before this pregnancy i had suffered a miscarriage which was devastating,so you can imagine how precious our little girl is to us! i dont know if my weight had a role to play in that....you know what?you just made me realize something....none of this weight S*** matters, the only thing that matters to me is my daughter and my wonderful husband! thanks!
by the way my daughter is called imaan
