Hi, I know there has already been another topic on this cream but i wanted to start a new one so that more people can comment on this cream. I am thinking of buying it. Apperently it works like magic? Can anyone who has tried it tell me if it is good for overall whitening of the face? Anyone had any bad experiences with the cream. I dont live in pakistan but if someone does or has been there can you tell me if its a popular product over there. Thanks!

yep i can tell you....... i went over to Pakistan this March, yeh it seems to be popular there - as much as fair & lovely, if not more...
My Aunty uses it, and she says it def works, even i thought she looked whiter since the last time i saw her lol! I thought i might as well bring some back wid me (cos it smells nice), and i used it for about a week before i came bak home.......
and guess wot??? everyone was sayin to me - are u sure u went Pakistan, u dont have much of a tan lol!
so yeh i think it works - unless it just peels of the top layer of ur skin or sumting (i hope not lol!)
Sumtimes when i wanna look fairer i jus use it the night before...... it makes a diff when i get up in the morning lol!
Just one more thing though: if u are planning to get some, there are two version of it made, one fake one real..... (let em kno if u wanna kno wot the diff is.......)

err yeh i agree wid sum of the people on that thread u posted though...... maybe its not good for u afterall even though it works, thats why i only use it occasionally.

wow thanks alisha, thats great info, how can you tell whether one is fake or not. I have asked my aunt from india to send me some. Is there some sort of hologram to prove it is genuine?

well, my aunty was saying she knows of two places in Pakistan where its made, in Lahore & Cheechawatni, the one frm Lahore is fake..... whilst the Cheechawatni is genuine, she lives near Cheechawatni so its great for her:). they sell both of them in cheechawatni, she knows how the original one smells like, thats how she can tell the diff.... sorry i kno its not much help, but its how much i kno:)
but i still suggest u read chillymillys post too, i dnt wanna be reccomending anything bad for u lol:)

nope i didnt get any spots or anything after using it (jus dnt apply it after plucking/threading/waxing - but i bet u kno that already lol:))
my aunt did say it gets rid of marks & stuff too..... am not sure cos i didnt have any marks to begin with - but for spots marks i suggest u have microdermabrasion treatments if its affordable, there more reliable......
when i get a chance i'll post a scan of the cream info u get in the package (although since the leaflets by Golden Pearl - their likely to say positive things about it lol:D)

It seems strange that some people have had bad experiences with it. Because thousands and thousands of people in pakistan must use it and there is no report of thousands of facial problems as a result of this cream (cos then i guess they would ban it over there and the company would fold). Its also strange that pakistan is super hot and the sun is strong and out every day yet this still doesnt mess up their faces even though they use this cream. So im thinking that over here in the u.k if we were to use this cream then it might have an even better effect than those in pakistan (cos we dont get very strong sun and in the summer we can just use a high sunblock). But i can see that in the other forum some people have reported problems and others have said it works wonders. I guess the trick is to use it properly. The way people are saying is that you should use it everynight for the first week and then perhaps every other day for the 2nd week and then maybe 2 to 3 times a week after that and then should probably stop use altogether after about 6 weeks.

well i think of it like this:
if these creams produce such amazing results then why is it that 'in the west' companies manufacture and sell £100 creams that claim to provide similar effects but it's well known that they don't.. why don't they put the same stuff in their super expensive creams that is put into these cheaply manufactured eastern creams?
i can guarantee it's because there is no way the ingredients would be approved by the FDA or EU. rules are pretty tight over here, cosmetics can't be the same grade as pharmaceutical products and even when they claim to have some fancy ingredient it's usually in the teeniest traces.
why would you trust a product that would never be approved over here?
secondly, how are you gonna hear about the problems with these creams? do you really expect there to be newspaper reports on them? i doubt it.
i mean to say that in forums there arnt that many people saying they have had bad experiences (there are a few) and there could easily be internet articles about these kinds of creams (there are loads of articles on fair and lovely and about bleach creams in general and there are even lists of which creams to stay clear of). Theres one article on the internet about how fair and lovely contains something like 0.05 per cent mercury! I think i have been misunderstood aswell - I do not think this cream has safe ingredients in it. I am aware that there is a likely chance of there being something in these creams that should not be used. I am aware of this - its obvious. But the reason it wont get approved over here is because is contans hydroquinone (a lightening ingredient) and this has been banned in the u.k and europe. But its fine in america and many other countries because there are very few studies proving it is dangerous. My arguement is that this cream may not be extremely harmful or toxic or dangerous providing its used accordingly and only for a short time (and then perhaps a proven natural lightener can be used after that). It depends how insecure someone is about their hyperpigmentation and dark patches. I appreciate your view and arguement stoppit :)

well i think there is so much info on fair and lovely because it is manufactured by unilever and many people believe it's unethical for such a company to be promoting fair skin as more beautiful skin. fair and lovely also has a HUGE user base all over the world so you're bound to get more feedback back about it.
golden pearl cream isn't marketed in the same way as far as i know and i believe it's quite new. give it time to find a larger user base and i'm sure you would hear of a lot more negative stories. to be quite honest i'm sure the majority of golden pearl users don't even use the internet.

u can actually buy it from some local asian shops in UK. i have bought one and it does work. i think it contains ingredients which can be harmful to the skin in the long run. my sister in law and her sisters used it for years and close up their skin is messed up, they have very open pores, visible when shes not wearing make up, and alot of hair aswell.
i think if u use it modestly, once a week it wont cause bad effects but over indulging in anythin will result in problems.

rose hip seed oil is really good for dark spots, but unforuntely for me, it causes me pimples too. Defeating the purpose of using it....
