1) So if the cream doesn't lighten skin by using hydroquinone.....what are the ingredients in it?
2) Honestly....there's not much point in asking people "opinions" about creams that lighten skin. All you need to do is look at the active ingredients in the cream....look at up on Google or Yahoo and read about the effectiveness/risks about that ingredient. That's it. People's "opinions" won't change any of the facts that're associated with that ingredient. And after reading about the ingredient, if you feel that that risks are worth it to YOU....then use it.
i dont know much about golden pearl but my cousins in pak use this cream. its expensive costs about 2500rupees for small amount approx 50ml. they suddenly have become so fair. one of their sis lives here close to us and they even send her too. when she is not using she is normal, but when she uses it she is very fair. the container has 786 cream name on it. but they claim that a lady makes for them with special ingredients
but i dont think so. few years back and may be now there's this add for 786 cream on pakistani tv and i thinks its same cream as there is no reason for the containers to have that name.
How about you see a derm who can recommend prescription-based products with active ingredients in higher concentrations...which would be more effective in giving you the results you desire.
This "Golden Pearl" stuff......I'm sorry.....but even the name of it sounds over-the-top and ridiculous....much like the others: Fair and Lovely, Ashe, Tibet Snow, etc.
Oh and whatever lightening product you use...apply sunblock at least half an hour before going out in the day. Such products make skin more sensitive to the sun..and if you're not careful...it can lead to darkening of the skin...which will set you back even further.
And IMO..in my opinion...quite a bit of "clarity" and "glow" to the skin can be achieved if you eat healthy, stay hydrated, and get enough sleep. If these basics are not in place....than any cosmetic/topical treatments can only go so far.

This.. Really you're wasting your time and money on random creams and potions which on the whole are just scams (and often have the potential to really damage your skin eg all those containing mercury).. There are safe and effective ways of lightening if that's what you want and you'll save yourself a lot of hassle if you just go to a derm..
I have an amazing esthetician....she's worked with derms, is licensced, and took her board exam recently. She has a daughter in her mid twenties....but you'd never guess it...that's how smooth and good her skin looks, MA. She orders professional/prescription grade products for her own personal use....and uses products which are KNOWN to be active and effective ingredients. And not too long ago...she told me that commercial products usually don't penetrate enough layers of the skin to make a dramatic difference.
I think it has a lot to do with your features. But I've seen people who seem to think that fair skin is sufficient enough to deem someone attractive....and that it can be compensation for arrangement of features, quality of skin, overall health/aesthetics. I've heard such views indirectly expressed.
At the same time I can understand that one is entitled to their preferences. If someone likes fair skin, wants to be fair-skinned....to each their own. But at least go about "getting fair-er (which won't be by many degrees)" in a way that's safe and effective.

Just some thoughts:
If you're serious about lightening your skin, using any cream "occassionally" won't get you good results. The chemicals that have been proven to lighten skin need to be diligently and b/c of their effects on the skin in the process, other precautions need to be taken so that the skin isn't permanently damaged (for example: using sunscreen every single day).
Most people are against it b/c of the potential side effects. But the reason the side effects happen and you hear horror stories is b/c people use these chemicals without researching them and don't take the time to find out how to property use it. And also, people want lighter skin but don't want to put the work into it and take all the precautions that need to be taken when using these chemicals.
Soooo.....if you have researched the ingredients in the cream....and you feel that you know the side effects and that you're diligent enough to take precautions so that your skin isn't permanently damaged....then use it. Because IF something does go wrong....you have no one to blame but yourself.

^ Agreed. So many people want "quick fixes". They want lighter skin or "perfect" skin but don't want to put all the effort that's needed for it (ie. using sunscreen diligently, taking time to research all ingredients etc.). They just want someone to hand them to "miracle" product and over night...want resutsl.
I agree with the 2nd part too. Instead of going after "lighter" skin.....I with more desis would focus on improving their diet/sleep....and also focus more on other less harsh products such as Vitamin C serums...products with AHA's or light retinol etc. No point in having "lighter" skin if its uneven toned and full of wrinkles. :)
thanks for the help peheli00 ... but i am not getting that y r u thinking that asking about any cream is wrong??? i mean cant we have a friendly talk just by discussing the experiences with each other?? anyways thanks for ur help too :)
^ because most pakistani skin lightening cream would say they have milk proteins in em.. obviously they are hiding the real ingredients and without having any clue about ingredients how would u know about the side effectsss
The more important issue here is why is the cream called Golden Pearl???? Many Pakistanis are "golden/tan" complexion. Why isn't it Vhite Pearl...Snow Pearl....Ghost Pearl....Milky Pearl....Milk of Pearls....Chitta Pearl?
i agree..i used derma-clin forte cream by derma techno pakistan lmt on entire face!!
it was meant to be used as a spot treatment for acne scarring or discoloured patches, but since i had discoloured skin on whole face,i used it on whole face..within one week, my skin started peeling slightly and it became much lighter and prettier..i couldnt believe how my face started looking so pretty with only a difference of skin tone,
but i discontinued use after some weeks cz i ran out of the small tube..my skin is still lighter than before using that cream but it did go some shades darker than wen i was using that cream..
derma-clin had kojic acid plus glycolic acid...acid causes mild peeling so kojic acid's working is more effective...
i bought golden pearl very recently and it also has kojic acid dipalmitate listed on its ingredients...i wud never use it on my face but on my arms and feet which have discolored due to sun exposure
