Cinematical *is live blogging the 2010 Golden Globes ceremony. Keep refreshing for more updates.

Commercial break. Every time I see ad for *Parenthood *(at least the fifth tonight) I can’t help think that the show is already on the air and called Modern Family.

10:07 pm - Wonderful speech by Scorsese. A reminder that film is not just entertainment or an artform, but a living history to be preserved.

10:05 pm - Scorsese gives the best possible shout-out to the Hollywood Foreign Press for their efforts in film preservation. Much better than crediting them with giving Pia Zadora an award.

10:02 pm - This tribute doesn’t defeat its own purpose - it makes you want to pop every Scorsese film in your DVD immediately.

9:59 pm - Scorsese video tribute begins with music from *The Last Temptation of Christ *and more visions of tortured faces than Abu Ghraib

9:58 pm - DeNiro says he imagines DeMille would be honored to receive “a Martin Scorsese award.” Nice line. DeNiro has never seemed this loose in front of a live crowd.

9:56 pm - Cecil B. De Mille award being presented by Robert DeNiro and Leonardo DiCaprio. Leo has benefit of being introduced as part of Scorsese’s next film, Shutter Island, while DeNiro is saddled with “from Everybody’s Fine.”

9:55 pm - Gearing up to take over for Dawn Taylor. Thanks to her and Mr. William Goss for blogging the first two hours. Now I hear the Golden Globe Band starting so I’ll move on.
