whats the typical amount of “tole” in one simple gold set? I am trying to estimate the price for a gold set I m getting made.

Chameli it depends on the size and the design you are getting made. It could range anywhere from 5-15 or even more i would think. A 15 tolay set would be quite heavy though.

well, I think some 10 grams is equal to 1 tola..
Here in UAE they use grams instead of tolas. So I am not exactly sure about how much tolas would be in a typical set.
It also depends upon the style of the set, because if you like something with pearls or stones, it'll have less gold but the jewler will charge you with the gold rate, on its whole weight.
So its a better option to look for something without stones, or with less stones, warna apna nuqsan ho jata hai. :)

Remember: less is more, especially when you consider that you'll have to pay zakat on it too.

last year when gold was around 9-10K per 10 gram in Pak, a decent gold set was running around 90,000 rupees.
Now the price of gold is 13K and going up every week so you are looking at something around 130-150,000 rupees for a decent set that you can wear at your nikaah.
