I just heard about this new thing in Pakistan (at least I think it’s new) where they gold-plate silver jewelry, so it looks like it’s actually all gold.
I think this is brilliant since:
it’s much cheaper than buying real gold sets
looks like the real thing (apparently)
you don’t have to pay zakat on the gold
you can get a BIG set and have ure devdas/jodhaa akbar fantasies come true
since most bridal gold jewelry (except earrings) is never worn again, you won’t feel so bad about having spent all that money!
your parents can use that money to buy you smaller jewelry that you will actually be able to wear later!
does anyone know where in Lahore or Karachi they make these sets? has anyone had any experience with it? any pictures?
I've heard you can buy those sets in Islamabad...Jinnah Market I heard...My mom saw a set there...It was about 80.000 rupees...and it was beautiful....
I don't have any gold plated sets..mine are all gold...
About two weeks ago we had a wedding of a close friend...I wore my tikka and big earring of my baraat at their mehendi....and tikka and earring at the baraatfunction.....It looked very nice.....my mom wanted me to wear my set also...But that's too big and looks too over...
It's money waste to buy big gold bridal set...coz u'll never wear it
