Re: Gold or artificial?
People these days wear artificial, it usually looks real. Gold is so expensive nowadays so artificial or gold plated are alternatives. If you find a nice artificial set that you like, go for it! Wear whatever makes you happy :)
Re: Gold or artificial?
Artificial all the way ! that way you can use the gold to get yourself day to day not to heavy jewellery. While, for the wedding, you can get a good sized artificial set ..
All those friends who spent thousands over a large gold set for the wedding, havnt ever been able to use them again in their years till date and the sets are mostly kept in the lockers !
I got myself smaller gold items intentionally and believe me I am enjoying them loads more .. the wedding set , the artificial one, I havnt used again coz it was a large set .. I am happy though I didnt spent a fortune on it !
Re: Gold or artificial?
^ artificial sets are about 1 lakh so gold wont be in thousands... but i see what u mean. Imho
lots of people give their daughters sets of gold for security/investment purposes too.
Re: Gold or artificial?
I got a jewellery set In silver, for my nikkah. I recieved gold sets n bangles as gifts from my inlaws and my parents. but I got a set made in silver complementing my dress. as gold prices are too high these days its not easy for everyone to get gold jewellery. My set was around 22 tola in silver with polki cut (not real ofcrse) but it looked awesome. its been 12 days only but everyone is already asking for the design :P
I would like to see a pic of your set..

Depends how high the expenditure you want ... I knew i wasnt going to throw the money away for one day ka show off , therefore I didnt spend lakhs on my main set .. Instead, I focused more on buying the jewellery that would give me day to day enjoyment plus remain with me as an investment as well ..
The artificial set cost me around 15% of the cost of the gold set at that time .. I decided that its always better to spend 15% rather then 100% on a waste product ! In that one time use, the investment wasnt too bad .. I still use the galaband part of it , and the earrings .. but only for occasions .. honestly speaking us ka paisa poora ho gia !
The money I spent on smaller items of gold , has paid me off triple its value already !
So yeah girls, make wise decisions .. yes jewellery is for investment but also know that when you buy sets that have loads of beads and stuff , you arent making a wise investment anyways .. coz beads you buy at the rate of gold , and when you go back to sell that same set you wont get anything for the beads ! so its a fail from the investment perspective and also from the enjoyment perspective coz you wont be able to wear large jewellery in your day to day life !
I don't like jewellery at all... But if I had to choose gold or artificial set, I would go for a small elegant golden set with stones like ruby/emerald etc. Coz you can wear that kind of sets on many occassions. But artificial sets are also very beautiful....
Re: Gold or artificial?
does anyone know where to get reasonable priced but nice artifcial jewllery to wear on weddings and occasions in pindi area?
Re: Gold or artificial?
artificial all the way...keep in mind some artificial can be really pricey, but either one you're most likely not going to wear ever again
