to me it's gold digging. the most important thing to look for in spouse is sharafat. if u marry for money, money is the only thing u will get in marriage. no love and no caring. materlistic people end up with people with same life values.

Perhaps they want to do whatever they can so that their kids have some chance of being prettier than them? Or have more luxuries than them and not undergo the financial struggle they bore?
Either way, it's delusional and superficial to feel that you are entitled to get someone better than you. Such a person should come down to earth. It's one thing to hope to get lucky, and another (aka irrational) to feel that you deserve to receive something you don't have to offer yourself.
However, if a pretty girl wants a rich guy and a rich but not good looking guy wants a pretty girl, more power to them as long as its a mutual arrangement.

.. lol ... umm ... i dunnu .. kinda both i guess .. The kinda guy i would want i don't care if his rich or not .... i don't care about hs education.. the only thing i do care about is that .. he should be handsome and loving.. =)

I think having some expectations is okay...like decent education, career or ambition.
Financial stability is important and I get that but basing your decision on how much he makes is wrong.
Same thing with looks. Both husband and wife look like prunes after a few years anyway. You should be looking for substance...the packaging doesnt mean much.
Its funny how when it comes to ourselves...we want to be taken and judged for WHO we are and not WHAT we are...are we extending the same courtesy to others though?

I think there is a difference.......goldigging is when you are aspiring for more than you are bringing to the table whereas being ambitious is wanting to bring more to the table and expecting a reciprocal effort from the other party !

Its neither Gold digging nor being Ambitious, its just cashing yourself at the right time and with the highest bid. Nothing wrong with it. People do it all the time or someone does it for them.
