I’v got a place at Sheffield Hallam uni to study Radiotherapy. Which means i’ll need to move away and live in halls. For people living away from home… how did you make muslim mates??
Ramadan is around the corner and being without my family will be weird enough?

How about you join the university MSA or Pakistani Association? Or, find the local masjid, go there and see if you can meet people who can introduce you to some others.

Bro...at your freshers...all the societies will be up and recruiting...so just join the Islamic Society...they'll have iftaris and stuff...so you can meet Muslims like that...
There is Jumah...likelihood is there will be some venue on campus that'l hold it so just go there and make your friends...
Your in Sheffield...there should generally be loads of Muslims around...
Just dont be shy...realise that everyone is in the same situation as you...everyone is looking to meet new people and no-one generally is hostile during the initial stages...so just chat to whoever takes your fancy...
Uni is a whole lot of acquaintances...so make sure to make some friends...
Good luck with your course...and Insh'allah you have no problem meeting like minded Muslims...
