Going to Pakistan...Need a visa?

Hi all,

hopefully someone can answer this…

My wife’s passport (pakistani) and id card have recently expired. We have booked our tickets from the Uk to leave in two weeks. I read on the Visa form that she may be excused from a visa on concession.

Is this true?

Will she able to travel without the visa to pakistan?

Re: Going to Pakistan…Need a visa?

i have no idea :crying: hopefully someone help u

Re: Going to Pakistan...Need a visa?

You better consult pakistani embassy, cause both her passport and ID card are expired.

Re: Going to Pakistan...Need a visa?

i found this on the visa form:

"FAMILY VISA:-
A single, Double or Multiple entry visa is issued to British nationals with Pakistani origin for a family visit to Pakistan. For British passport holders with expired Pakistani passport (issue date not earlier than 01 Jan 1975) concession is granted.
Such applicants must produce their expired Pakistani passport and its photocopy while children under 18 years must provide their parents’ expired Pakistani passport and photocopies along with detailed Birth Certificate and photocopy. Passport of denounced nationality will not be accepted."

Re: Going to Pakistan...Need a visa?

will a pakistan id card suffice in place of a pakistani passport?

Re: Going to Pakistan...Need a visa?

It is better for you to call pakistani embassy and ask your question. They will let you know correct answer.

IMO, you should apply urgent passport for her.

Re: Going to Pakistan...Need a visa?

inshAllah we will be going to paki next month From USA and we had to get the new computerized passport made cuz no one can travel through the old passports they had everyone must get a new passport in order to travel.

Re: Going to Pakistan...Need a visa?

You can't board the plane if your passport is expired.

Re: Going to Pakistan...Need a visa?

^ i thnk she has a british passport too...thus need for paki visa.

Re: Going to Pakistan...Need a visa?

Does she have a nicop card? if that is valid then you won't need a visa even with an expired pakistani passport.

Re: Going to Pakistan...Need a visa?

What about a valid CNIC? Is that still the equivalent of having a NICOP? I have a valid CNIC and don't want to pay $120 for a visa. (A NICOP takes time and I don't fee like applying for it).

Re: Going to Pakistan...Need a visa?

Having CNIC will not grant you entry into Pakistan, you must have NICOP to enter Pakistan. I'd suggest to renew Pakistani passport because it may be quicker to renew the passport than applying for visa.

In your wife's case, she will need to apply for rewnal of Passprot & CNIC / NICOP. Passport can take two weeks but NICOP can take upto three months. But once u have PK passprot trave shouldn't be an issue.

I'd also suggest contacting Machli Mandi .. ops I mean Pakistani Embassy, for further details.

Re: Going to Pakistan...Need a visa?

Thank you Najim. I am in the process of applying for a NICOP. If I could only get the NY Consulate to answer their telephones. :(

Re: Going to Pakistan...Need a visa?

You can travel to pakistan with non computerized passport (your expired computerized passport should attach with manual passport).

as long as you have valid pakistani passport you can enter without visa.

Re: Going to Pakistan...Need a visa?

get the correct documents even if you dont wish to. it will save problems and the pak authorities are famous for making up rules as they go along. so best to have all your own documents in order, saves heartache!
