there wud be about 8 of us.. and we are looking for THE cheapest hotels (since we’re all students and kinda poor :-!!) in a safe location, preferably near downtown
we’re all googling like mad, but so far the ones we found are like $300+ per night… is that the cheapest?
any kind of help/info would be MUCH MUCH appreciated..
also cheap restaurants/food places.
oh and cheap outlets for shoppingg

It is difficult to get cheap hotels in downtown.. maybe find cheap hotles in other areas and just use subway. For cheap food, check local/small resturants, they are cheap compared to the big names. cheap shopping...lol.. i guess go to china town even on fashion ave you will find lot of small stores that are not too expensive... rest I hope a yankee will be able to give you better answers lol

Zyxw, have a look a Welcome to the Central Park Hostel - the Best Budget Accommodations in New York City Take a full 10-bed dorm room. that will cost you approx $280 per night (for all 8). Ask them for group discount as they do group sales. All the best!
